✨ How I got here
This morning, I sat with my tea scrolling through headlines and feeds, and my chest felt heavy.
The chatter about “The Big Beautiful Bill” and thoughts of ICE left me unsettled.
I could see it online, too — people anxious, fearful, grieving the country they thought they knew.
Even though I’ve lived through scary times before, this one landed differently.
I felt both angry and helpless… until I remembered:
The antidote to fear is breath. The counter to despair is choice.
We can’t always control what happens around us,
but we can control how we ground ourselves in it —
and how we choose to move forward.
That’s what brought me to write this for you — and for me.
A gentle invitation to come back to yourself.
To remember that your presence here is already an act of resilience.
You don’t need permission to take up space.
You already belong.
Here’s how to anchor back into that knowing today:
🌱 Affirmations to Ground & Activate
Read these aloud. Feel them in your chest. Repeat as needed.
💖 “I am not what they fear. I am what they can’t break.”
🤍 “I belong here — on my terms.”
💖 “Even in a trembling world, I can be my own steady ground.”
🤍 “I choose to show up rooted, even when rattled.”
💖 “My joy is resistance. My presence is protest. My love is power.”
🕊️ Journaling Prompts
Name the fear, but don’t let it name you.
What about today feels heavy or unsettling to me?
Where do I feel it in my body? How can I give it compassion?
Remember who you’ve always been.
When have I overcome something I thought I couldn’t?
What strength carried me through?
Imagine the freedom you deserve.
What would today feel like in a truly free and just world?
Who benefits when I believe I don’t belong? Who benefits when I claim my place?
What one step could I take this week to align with my vision of belonging and justice?
Reclaim joy as your quiet rebellion.
Even now, what feels like freedom to me in this moment?
What will I savor today — just because I can?
✨ Your Activation
When you’re ready, write one small, concrete way you’ll channel this energy outward today — a call, a donation, checking on a neighbor, resting your nervous system, smiling at a stranger who needs it.
💌 “Today I choose to…”
If this resonated with you, feel free to share it with someone who needs a reminder:
you’re not alone, and you’re not powerless.
We the resilient are still here.
We the resilient are still breathing.
We the resilient are still building.
Happy Fourth — on your terms.
If this landed for you, let me know. Reply, share, or simply breathe with me.
